Honda keeps its schedule busy because they still releasing teaser photos of their new 2012 Honda Civic. Now, the Japanese carmaker shares their focus on developing the race car for British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). The developing of 2012 Honda Civic BTCC race car is joint partnership with Team Dynamics.
Together with Team Dynamics, there are two units of 2012 Honda Civic BTCC race car which based on the new Civic. The Honda Racing team is planning to enter the championship as a complete “works” team and wants to achieve the same results as last year when they successfully snatched both the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ titles. Achieving the same results probably not the main goal as Honda hinted that they want to set up new lap and time record with the new 2012 Civic BTCC race car.
Dave Hodgetts – Managing Director of Honda UK commented the 2012 Honda Civic BTCC race car joins the BTCC championship, “We are delighted to enter the new Civic in next year’s BTCC, and hope to build on the success we’ve already had with the current model. We’ve made significant improvements to the new road car, and we’re confident those changes will make for a competitive race car too.”
No official confirmation on the complete driver line-up and the sponsors for the 2012 Honda Civic BTCC race car. What we know for sure is that Matt Neal will be driving one of the 2012 Honda Civic BTCC race cars.
Here is what Matt Neal thought about his involvement on the championship by driving 2012 Honda Civic BTCC race car, “We are all looking forward to 2012, and from my point of view it is very exciting to have the prospect of driving the new Honda Civic. The team’s development of the car is already well underway, and the new Civic will fit the BTCC’s ‘Next Generation Touring Car’ regulations. I’m sure it will keep Honda at the front, and in the winner’s circle, both off and on track!”
