Back on July, we gave you the teaser image of the 2012 Honda CR-V; and now, thanks to carscoop.blogspot.com; the shape and styling of Japanese new compact SUV has been leaked. The 2012 CR-V will be getting the official introductory at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
Judging by the photos, the 2012 Honda CR-V has shrunk here and there. We notice that the SUV carries smaller wheels, protection plate under the front bumper, and that is about the changes on the vehicle if we compare it to the teaser image back on July.
The overall look of the 2012 CR-V is definitely an evolution from the current generation as the SUV has less complicated front-end styling and s sharper looking window line. According to John Mendel – American Honda Vice President of Sales explained that the new style of the next-generation of SUV as more sophisticated and dynamic than its predecessor.
Since its just bunch of leaked images of the 2012 Honda CR-V, no information about the powertrain but quoted from Mr. Mendel, the new SUV will provide amazing interior versatility and Honda’s latest technologies for convenience and refinement.
What we know about the performance part is the availability of both front- and all-wheel drove configurations. Other than that, we don’t expect any major changes under the hood. For the North American, the 2012 Honda CR-V will get the improved version of the current 4-cylinder gasoline unit. As for the European specification CR-V will be offered the choice of 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The brand new 2012 CR-V SUV probably will be ready for US showrooms at fall 2012.
