2012 Mazda3/Axela Facelift

Another model with SKYACTIV technology has started the production lines in Japan. The 2012 Mazda Axela hatchback which widely known as Mazda3 is following the facelifted Mazda Demio – also known as Mazda2 – will get new SKYACTIV-G in 2.0L gasoline engine and SKYACTIV-DRIVE with six-speed automatic transmission. The production of the facelifted 2012 Mazda Axela gas started at the Hofu Plant in Yamaguchi prefecture in western Japan.

With SKYACTIV technology inside, the facelifted 2012 Mazda Axela hatchback is able to provide 15 percent improvement in fuel economy, while the transmission improves four to seven percent compare to the previous model.

The 2012 Mazda Axela hatchback is planning for sale in Japan this fall. Besides the smart SKYACTIV 2.0L, the 2012 Axela also features “intelligent-Drive Master” or (i-DM) which is a new piece of technology that has been installed on the facelifted Mazda Demio.

Here is what Mazda has to say about the i-DM feature on the facelifted 2012 Mazda Axela hatchback, “The newly-developed i-DM provides information and driving tips designed to promote a smooth and efficient driving style, thereby supporting enjoyable driving, a more comfortable ride for passengers, and improved fuel economy.”

With SKYACTIV engine and i-DM feature, Mazda hopes the 2012 Axela hatchback will able to improve its performance and acceleration.  Before undergo facelifting process, the 2012 Mazda Axela hatchback is Mazda3 which is the fastest-selling model in Mazda’s current line-up with cumulative production volume of over three million units.
