It is not like we surprise – more like shock, actually – knowing that the Infiniti M will be rebadged as Mitsubishi. Wait, did we miss something here? Since when does Mitsubishi want to receive and rebadge Infiniti?

It is not it US or European division of Mitsubishi, but in Japan. In cherry blossom country, Mitsubishi and Nissan – means that Infiniti is also tight up – are involving in an agreement or business collaboration. We don’t quite know since when these two Japanese automakers have this secret collaboration, but we suspected it has been going on for more than couple of years.

Nissan will be sharing the Infiniti M as Mitsubishi. The Infiniti M is currently sold as Nissan Fuga on the JDM or Japanese Domestic Market. The Fuga will be rebadged as Mitsubishi and ready for sale from summer 2012.

The Nissan Fuga or Infiniti M are not alone because those two parts are also joining forces to allow Mitsubishi MINICAB MiEV electric car to enter the market next year.  The base version of the Infiniti M or Nissan Fuga is powered by 3.7L V6 that carries 330 horsepower. Just so you know, the M badges are in the form of sedan, so maybe Mitsubishi is planning to introduce an entry-level sedan. Or could it be the next Eclipse and using the Infiniti M as the base platform?
