Yes, the boxy crossover up there is the one and only the Subaru XV which got its official unveiled back on 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show. Since the production form of the XV crossover has been revealed, it means that the car will be joining the production floor anytime soon. Subaru has decided that the first two markets for XV are the Australia and most of Asia. Now, will the Subaru XV crossover will be sold in US?

It’s interesting because according to the Michael McHale – Director of Corporate Communications for Subaru America – the XV will be filling the Impreza lineup for the 2013 model year. Yes, there will be no Impreza or STI for Subaru which why the XV comes to the rescue and fill the empty slot. Never thought that the XV will be marketing in US under the name of Impreza, right?

When Subaru XV takes over Impreza’s place of US market, it means Subaru America wants to offer Impreza model in more different variant which in this case in form of crossover. Additional features for XV before invading the US market are higher ride height, unique wheels, both wheel-arch and rocker-panel cladding that are available in a contrasting color. Last but not least, the US version of Subaru XV crossover will be getting a unique front grille and fascia.
