If Toyota will be unveiling the FT-86 II concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, then Subaru will be bringing the BRZ concept. Judging by the image leaked, the Subaru BRZ will be in the form of coupe. The details are blurry but rumor has it that the coupe will be a “back to the basics” sportscar. It means that it will be offering the old-school sportscar.
Well, the traditional sportscar carries powerful engine, right? What does the Subaru BRZ have under its hood? Little bird told us that the BRZ coupe sportscar will be powered by four-cylinder boxer engine. Four-cylinder boxer engine, eh? That is pretty much remind us with the piece of art Subaru did few months back dubbed as “Car Architecture II”.
Couple of weeks ago, when Subaru teased us with the BRZ coupe for the first time, the Japanese carmaker explained that the “BRZ” stands for “Boxer engine”, “Rear-wheel-drive”, and “Zenith”. The BRZ coupe also embodies the ultimate passion for the new sportscar and confidence in its distinctive trademark and core technology which is none other than the Horizontally-Opposed Subaru Boxer engine.
Okay, so far here is what we know about the Subaru BRZ coupe concept: it carries Boxer engine, it is in rear-wheel-drive, and will be featuring the traditional sportscar asset which in this case is an extremely low center of gravity. Again, we just have to patient enough to wait for the official debut for the Subaru BRZ coupe. In the mean time, let’s play with our imagination by admiring the leaked image of BRZ coupe concept, shall we?
