As we previously reported that the Subaru XV Crosstrek will be presented at the LA Auto Show and it arrives in the form of XV crossover with different name. It is good to know that the Impreza-based crossover is not only staying as concept, but presence in production version. The first time the Japanese automaker introduced the XV was at Frankfurt Auto Show back in September.
The confirmation that the XV Crosstrek will hit the floor of LA Auto Show was acquired from Subaru’s representative – Tom Doll during a presentation at the aforementioned auto event. According to autoevolution.com, the Japanese automaker the decision to bring the XV crossover on the US is to differentiate the vehicle from Impreza and to search for new car segment in US.
Not much of details we can get about the Subaru XV Crosstrek, but the original XV is powered by 2.0L 4-cylinder horizontally-opposed DOHC engine. That particular engine is able to deliver as much as 150 horsepower. As for the XV Crosstrek, it seems like Subaru will give 1.6L petrol engine and 2.0L Boxer engine. Subaru has to rush thing off because the XV Crosstrek crossover has scheduled to be ready for sale as 2013 model and replacing the Outback Sport.
