Subaru BRZ

Subaru BRZ is one of the most awaited cars to take participation at 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show next month. You might still remember the SubaruBoxer Sports Car Architecture” platform technology showcased at this year’s Geneva Auto Show. Well, the teaser image of the Subaru BRZ concept based on the Horizontally-Opposed Boxer engine which set to form part of an upcoming RWD sportscar.

The Subaru BRZ which probably rear-wheel drive sportscar is an under joint project with Toyota Motor Corporation. Not much of info about the Subaru BRZ sportscar concept because the Japanese carmaker stated that the official details will be shared in Frankfurt. The teaser image is entitled “Subaru BRZ Prologue – Boxer Sports Car Architecture II”. Notice the sentence “Boxer Sports Car Architecture II” which based on our journalistic instinct, it could only mean two things.

First, Subaru BRZ is the real life form of the Sports Car Architecture which was unveiled during the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. Or two, Subaru BRZ is a completely new car with new body-shape design although the Horizontally-Opposed Boxer engine stays the same. As much as we want to choose number one, but our predictions go to number 2. The name “Boxer Sports Car Architecture II” means Subaru BRZ receives new body design and new styling.

The abbreviation of “BRZ” on Subaru BRZ sportscar stands for “Boxer Engine”, “Rear-wheel drive”, and “Zenith” which embraces the ultimate passion for the new sportscar and confidence in its distinctive signature and core technology. The core technology on the Subaru BRZ sportscar refers the none other than the Horizontally-Opposed Boxer Engine.  The Japanese automaker schedules the Subaru BRZ sportscar to enter the production line up in Spring 2012.
