After gain successful sales with Toyota Yaris, Toyota prepares to launch its new variant of car to the market.  The 2011 Toyota Matrix is expected to be another contender in a hatchback class. There are three models of Matrix: Matrix, Matrix XRS and Matrix AWD. All three models featuring a choice of front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive, two engine sizes, manual or automatic transmissions, and enhanced safety.

The 2011 Toyota Matrix equips with a powerful yet efficient 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (Dual VVT-i) which able to produce 132 horsepower and torque up to 128lb-ft. The engineers at Toyota have upgraded the engines both for performance and efficiency with systems like sequential multiport fuel injection. The transmissions are depending on model. A five-speed manual close-ratio transmission features overdrive, both four-speed and five-speed automatic have Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT) sport overdrive, lockup torque converter and transmission cooler.

With all the engine technology offers by Toyota, it doesn’t mean that 2011 Matrix not having safety features. The safety features are all Matrix models equipped withToyota Star Safety SystemTM, disc brakes which ventilated discs up front to shed heat effectively in performing braking situations, a six-airbags system (dual stage driver and front passenger airbags, front seat mounted side airbags and front and rear side curtain airbags), adjustable B-pillar shoulder belt anchor, and child protector seats and rear door locks.
